A message from our founder
“Buhle” means beauty. We look for it in every child we meet.
Thee Buhle Foundation started with a simple frustration: bright learners in our community were
falling behind for reasons that had nothing to do with ability. No quiet place to study. No one to
ask when a maths problem stopped making sense. No adult who could say “I have walked this
road, and you can too.”
So we built what was missing — Saturday tutoring, mentors who show up every week, workshops that
teach the things school does not, and camps where a child can simply be a child.
Community. Compassion. Change. In that order, always.
From this term, Saturday tutoring runs at both Sebokeng Community Centre and our Vanderbijlpark offices — which means smaller groups and a shorter walk for most families.
